changing instrument sounds

I have imported a score that is an mxl fie from Sibelius. I am trying to change the snare sound to a marching snare. It currently sounds like a piano. When I edit it under the staff/part properties I get no sound.

What can I do?

First check if the instrument itself is actually correct in the staff/part properties
Then check the mixer to try and change the playback sound
