Tempo equations

Hi, I am probably Last of the Musescore Mohicans working with Musescore 2. I was wondering if there is a possibility in that version to notate tempo equations, i.e. I want to make clear that a half note in the previous part is equal to a quarter note in the next bit. What to do?

Those are called metric modulations. I don't remember if they're available in MuseScore 2, but in the current version of MuseScore (3.4.2), they're available in the Tempo palette of the Advanced workspace.

Add a tempo marking with the half note and another one with the quarter note.
Double click them to be able to edit their text. You can now cut and paste the note symbols to get the visuals correct.
Then use the inspector to uncheck the "follow text" option and set the desired actual tempo (BPM in that field means QPM)
