Low FPS

Hello, I am currently having FPS problems with Musescore 3 for Mac. It all started about two weeks ago and it appears to be getting worse. It's almost getting to the point of being unbearable. Some specific things I notice is a delay in typing lyrics, selecting a note, switching sounds, and executing commands such as open mixer or copy and paste. Another thing I noticed is during playback, the progress bar is slow. Does anyone have a fix? I've tried limiting the number of sound fonts in my synthesizer and the number of scores I have open at a time, but to no avail.
