Staccato's cannot play with accent marks with it.
Yeah, that pretty much explains it all. I am going to use my third sonata as an example (measure 118 in the first movement).

I suspect this is due to another issue reported today in v3.5 and confirmed by @theotherjthistle, who is responsible for the single note dynamics code. Accents are sustained throughout the duration of a note now and probably makes the notes sustain in spite of the staccato. I did notice the the staccato works fine with the sf's in the next measure and this is expected according to what jthistle said.
