Divisi

• Sep 6, 2020 - 10:51

I notice that some people have been using "divisi' markings in their scores. This is obviously just text, and means something to human performance groups.

As far as I can see it has no effect on the player or midi generated by Musescore. Would it be possible, or even desirable, to have this instruction generate multiple midi tracks, or tell the embedded player to create slightly spatially separated virtual instruments?

I appreciate that Musescore is fundamentally a score writing tool, but it might be useful to have separate lines on a stave split so that separate Midi tracks could be generated. Otherwise users have to explicity write out separate staves for each group of instruments.

Maybe this has been dealt with before. Just flying a kite.
