wrong resolution of a b in same measure

• Sep 6, 2020 - 21:30

See attached sample line: The resolution of the f flat into the non-flat note (in 3rd full measure, flute) should be correct as far as the score representation is concerned, but sounds wrong:

If one puts a sharp there instead of the resolution the sound is right, but the score is wrong.

Can you explain what you mean in more detail? Are you saying one of those notes doesn't sound right on your system? I hear it played exactly as I see - first an F sharp, then an F flat, then an F natural - three distinct pitches, just like you wrote it. I'm guessing you really meant to use F natural for the second note and back to F sharp for the third. Not sure how much you know about music notation, but F natural is always F natural, the white key next to the three black keys on the piano. It doesn't mean to cancel a preceding accidental but return to whatever was in the key signature.

Perhaps the confusion is that the first F in the measure is an F# because of the key signature. The F-flat is one step below that then the F-natural is between the other two in pitch.
