Request for a new "Page View": "Vertical View"

• Sep 8, 2020 - 03:53

I think the title already says it, I'd like to ask for a new page view: "Vertical View". Compared to "Single Page" (or "Page View" in MuseScore 2), the next page of a score is shown underneath the current page of the score:

This has a few advantages that I really like:
- I can get to the next page or previous page, only by using the mouse wheel
- Depending on the score, the last measure on the current page and the first measure on the next page can be viewed together easier. Sometimes that's really useful.
- When editing the last measure of a score, it sometimes jumps to the next page. It works more convenient if a measure stays in my view, while it's jumping around. :-D

This type of view is used by a number of PDF viewers. I noticed by coincidence how much easier it is to scroll through the pages.

And last but not least, many thanks to all those who make MuseScore possible!

This is already possible, just set "Scroll pages vertically" in Edit / Preferences / Canvas.

Note you can user the scroll wheel to move horizontally, though. Either by pressing Shift while scrolling , or just using a device that supports horizontal scrolling directly (quite a few do).
