can't use two different fonts within a text frame
Hi, musescore wizards!
So, I need to have a natural sign added in a stave text, but can't find it in Free Serif - naturally (no pun intended). I can't seem to use two different fonts within the same text frame either - which would be very handy, would quite like to see that added. :-)
Do you guys know any way around this? A suggested font with both common letters and music specific characters, perhaps? Or some other way to get around only being able to use one font at a time?

To add a natural sign, simply type Ctrl+Shift+H (because H looks kind of sort of like a natural sign). This works in any font, within MuseScore anyhow. Other common symbols also have similar shortcuts = Ctrl+Shift+b for flat, etc. Or press F2 while editing or click the icon to the far left of the text toolbar to display the Special Characters palette which gives you access to pretty much every musical symbol there is.

Aside from the method to enter special characters mentioned by Marc: You can use multiple fonts in a single text frame or staff text.
When editing the text, select/highlight the part for which you wish to change the font settings; then use the toolbar at the bottom of the screen (not the inspector) to affect only the selected part of the text.

Thanks for that very useful info, that's going to be really handy!
I had never noticed that toolbar, though, even if it's really quite visible. That makes me wonder if not all of the functionality shoud be working through the inspector as well?

That toolbar is from the ancient times, when the inspector was but a mere dream.
It's been said back in those days when the toolbar was conceived, dinosaurs were still roaming this realm.

Hah, well, musescore is well out of the mesozoic by now, no worries if one or two living fossils are still around :-)
Iunderstandthe inspector is bein worked at as well, so I guess I might be lucky and get all the text options collected in one place at some point anyway

The tool bar gives you the ability to change font settings in the middle of text. The Inspector only allows changing the entire selected text element at once. It gives the flexibility you ask for and I often use myself.
