Cannot open MSCZ, files...

Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I'm curious...I got a new computer last year because my last one completely shut down due to some sort of shock. We transferred a lot of the files onto my new computer. I have many of my old MuseScore 1 and 2 files in MSCZ, file type, but I am now unable to open them with MuseScore3, or any of them, for that matter. The error I get is: "
Cannot read file C:\Users(MyUsername)\AppData\Local\Temp\
Temp1_Scores.zip
\
.How_I_Wonder_Why.mscz
,:
unknown type"

I have many a file in this state and am very worried that they are now essentially lost. Can you please help me out?

Thank you!

Sincerely, LZ

These are all backup files, you're not really supposed to open them.
If you really want to though, you should be able to do it from within MuseScore's File > Open dialog, but not via double click. If using the latest MuseScore version (3.5 that is), older version won't open them at all, unless you 'rename away' the trailing comma.

Normally those backup files are invisible, but if your OS is set to show invisible files, you'll see them. Juyst ignore them and keep looking until you find your real file, which won't end in a comma or start with a period. They also normally won't be in AppData or Temp folders, though - your real scores should be in your normal Documents folder (Documents/MuseScore3/Scores, etc).
