To silence only one stave of a 2-stave keyboard instrument:
- select the entire contents of one stave
- in the Inspector click the Notes button and disable the Play checkbox
- this will silence all notes on the selected stave

Selecting the Piano in the Mixer displays two sets of Mute Voice buttons (one for each piano staff):
