Why does the Windows 10 application only have version 3.3.4.9134 and not 3.6 ?
Does the application only allow currently installed versions of MuseScore? Or is there a limitation requiring MuseScore to forget any available versions for the application? I can't seem to figure out the answer to the question myself. Does anybody here has a clear insight capable of providing a reasonable explanation? I am very confused. This isn't very critical but I cannot directly install MuseScore 3.6 for technical reasons.
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64,
MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.3.4.9134,
revision: 7ea61d9

Do you have administrative control of the Windows 10 computer, or is it part of an education or work environment?
Are you forced to use Microsoft store for your apps?
The latest Windows version of the MuseScore scorewriter software can be found here:
https://musescore.org/en/download
(Just don't choose Microsoft Store)

I am theoretically supposed to own this Windows 10 PC, however I was denied administrative controls. Thus I have been forced to use the Microsoft store.
See #313298: MuseScore in Microsoft Store is outdated, still at 3.3.4; remove link on Download page, I keep nagging about this since almost exactly a year now (ever since 3.4 got released, 24Jan 2020), to no avail :-(
Workaround: use the PortableApp
