Musescore 3.6 Custom Style as preference

I just started using MuseScore 3.6. Previously I had 3.5.2. I have been using a default style of my own making. I had to manually load this style and tell Musescore 3.6 to ignore the problems and load anyway. This worked. Then I saved the style under a new name and updated that new name into the Edit->Preferences, Score tab, label name Style. This doesn't work when I re-start the 3.6 app. I have to manually load my new Style. What have I missed?
