Problem with musescore version 3.6.1

• Jan 31, 2021 - 12:48

I am using Ubuntu 20.10 and I have just installed the latest version of musescore 3.6.1 via snap using the following command:

sudo snap install musescore

The installation worked perfectly/ When I ran the musescore application I noticed some things which do not seem right for a released stable version.
* the splash screen has the text "Development build" at the top
* The musescore window title says "Musescore 3 (3.6.1 unstable): Untitled"
* A directory called "MuseScore3Development" was created in my ~/Documents directory.

This release has all the hall marks of being an interim test/development/beta release. I am not confident in using this current version as it may be unstable. Could you please investigate and let me know if there are indeed any issues with this release or if everything is OK.

Thank you very much.

I downloaded the appimage (MuseScore-3.6.1.515740129-x86_64.AppImage) as you suggested but that didn't work either. I got the message and "qrc:/qml/DialogButton.qml:74: ReferenceError: globalStyle is not defined". The splash screen was overlayed with white square containing the text "Help us to improve MuseScore" but with no means of responding tp the message. I attach a screenshot.

Thank for responding so quickly.

Ah, that is better the apopimage worked this time after pressing ESC. None of the problems I documented in my original message are present now, so all seems well with this version of the appimage package.

Just out of interest what is wrong with the snap package as per my original message.

Thank you very much indeed for your quick response. Much appreciated.
