opening workspace

Why does my opening workspace have a Half sheet of music paper split from top to bottom? I only get a full sheet when I Create a New Document. Is this normal opening behavior
Also, I am A new subscriber and I would like to take the Tours, but I can't see them anywhere in the program.
Please advise, Thank You
