NEED HELP

• Feb 19, 2021 - 16:13

I HAVE CHANGED MY SATB COMPOSITION FROM 3/4 TO 6/8. I HAVE FOUND HOW TO MAKE THE BAR LINES INVISIBLE (ALTH0UGH I CAN STILL SEE THEM). IS THERE A METHOD TO HAVE ALL OF THE NOTES AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE THE THE STEMS TO 8TH NOTES INSTEAD OF ME HAVING TO CHANGE ALL OF THEM MYSELF? I STILL HAVE TROUBLE DELETING RESTS WHERE NOT NEEDED AND I VERY FREQUENTLY HAVE A REST FOLLOWING ME AROUND CONSTANTLY. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

First get your keybord fixed, the CapsLock key seeems stuck.
If it's not that, please stop shouting at us...

Then look at Edit > Insert half duration

It's not clear why you'd go to the trouble of having a time signature then changing it but not want barlines visible, so maybe I am misunderstanding something. But, maybe I can guess - you had it in 3/4 with three quarter notes per measure, now it's 6/8 but there are still three quarter notes per measure because that's what fits in 6/8, but you want to turn these into eighths. Assuming so, then indeed, Past Half Duration should do the job. But you'll want to restore the barlines.

As for the rests, they are present normally to make sure every measure adds up to the right number of beats. Deleting a rest would usually result in a measure having fewer beats than the time signature calls for. Are you sure that's what you want?

Either that or maybe you made the mistake of entering notes into voice 2, 3, or 4 before first using voice 1 - people often make this mistake entering SATB music, putting the tenor and bass onto voices 3 & 4 instead of 1 & 2. See the section of the handbook on Voices to learn more. To fix this in scores already created this way, though, use Tools / Voices to move the voices where they belong. And then don't use voices 3 & 4 in the future unless you actually need them.

If that doesn't help, probably best to attach your score so we can understand better.
