I messed up and I don't know how to install the new fonts

• Feb 20, 2021 - 21:44

Ok, so I updated to 3.6 and it did give me the window with the checkmarks to activate the new fonts(Leland and Edwin), but my mouse slipped and the window got out of frame, I couldn't touch it. I ended up having to close it and reboot to see if I could find it again. Nope. Now I don't know what fonts I'm using or how to activate them manually and it's breaking my brain. This was entirely my mistake and I just need help rectifying it.

It's not really clear what you mean, but the dialog should appear the first time you open an older score, to give you the choice of whether to update that score or not. If you save the file then, your choice is remembered and you won't be asked again next time you open it. if you don't save, then you'll be asked again next time you import that same file. And certainly, if you try to import a file you haven't imported before, it will ask about that. If you want to always use the new fonts for old scores - or never use them - select that and select the option to not be asked again.

Not sure what you mean about changing to Ediwn and back, but if you don't save, it's normal the change won't be remembered.

The apply default typeface (edwin) box. I check it, click apply, and then ok. But when I open it up again. It looks like this. I have one score I'm working on and I'm trying to apply the new fonts to it. I was able to apply the Leland font, but my lyrics still default to freeserif and I don't know how to change that.

I can confirm there is a bug with that checkbox box, though. Check it, hit OK, but it doesn't stick. Not sure why, but I'd encourage you to submit that as a bug to the issue tracker, category Functional, severity Minor.

It's definitely to be expected that the Reset All Styles to Default button would set all text styles to Edwin. Not really sure how you were trying to do it before, but my guess is you were changing only one syllable in the Inspector or only selected characters using the text toolbar, and that indeed wouldn't apply to anything else.
