SAVING TO DESKTOP

• Mar 22, 2021 - 04:13

Hi there,
I believe I must have forgotten something over the years.
Although pretty much a complete novice I use Musescore to write various items.
At the end of a session I Know I can save items to my Music Library but I would like too, to know how to store them in a folder on my desktop as well.
Can anybody offer a step by step please ?
am running Windows 7 at 64 bits if that helps.
Thanks

Sam

Right click on the desktop->Create New Folder, give it a name;
Open MuseScore, Edit/Preferences/General and in the box Scores enter the new path.;
Press OK.

From MuseScore menu file save as
In the dialog box click on desktop, there right click and select new folder
Set the name of that folder like you want
And save there.

Actually what you call music library is also a folder you can also move files between there and other folders when MuseScore is closed

To be clear: there is no such thing as a "Music Library", at least not where MuseScore is concerned. Everything MuseScore saves, it saves a plain ordinary regular old file in a plain ordinary regular old folder.

So, when you hit Save for the first file (or Save As any time afterwards), you see a dialog and it shows you the correct folder it's about to save in. That's just a plain ordinary regular old folder like any other on your computer. If you prefer a different folde,r just navigate to it using that dialog.
