dialog boxes cut off
my display of many, maybe all, dialog boxes cuts off the bottom where the control buttons are making many operations impossible like selecting a part. Muse staff have offered solutions but none work.

Often the "-D" option is the right way to go when this happens, but not always. Is your score also too big - viewed at 100% zoom, it should be physically the same size on screen as when printed? What about the symbols on the palette - do clefs etc look about the same size as in your score (clefs in palette should be 80% of normal size)? If only the dialogs are too big but the rest seems right, you probably need a different solution, but the specifics depend on your OS and your display. On some Windows computers, going into the properties of the EXE file and setting the DPI scaling to "system (enhanced)" might be useful, on other systems setting or upsetting the environment variable QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR can be the trick.
