not possible to reduce crescendo/decrescendo length less than measure

Hi all,
In MuS, I could not manage to reduce the length of the crescendo/decrescendo as in original score (see measure 2 in picture).
The hairpin is stuck to the entire measure length and not even the INSPECTOR could help.
Any advice?

The hairpin needs some reference element to attach itself to.
Try adding rests in voice 2 (and mark them invisible)
