Soundfont issues

So I've been trying to add a soundfont to a score in a way that the soundfont only applies to one instrument. I can't figure out how to do this and looking it up hasn't been successful. Is there a way to do this?

Add the soundfont to the end of the list, then select the sound you want from that soundfont in the Mixer for the instrument you want it to apply to (the sounds for the new soundfont will be at the end of that list as well).

If you only want the sounds from one soundfont, then use the Synthesiser panel to just load that one soundfont.

If you are using the basic soundfont for most instruments, but you want the sounds from a different soundfont for one or more instruments, then as Marc says, load up the extra soundfont, and the additional sounds will be at the end of the list in the Mixer.

Actually you can put the soundfonts in any order, and the sounds will still be available in the Mixer, but trying to figure out which sounds are which may present major headaches, and sometimes it gets worse than that if the sounds are not in a "standard" General Midi or recognisable order.

If you are able to make up your own soundfonts - for example using tools like Polyphone - you can make sure that only the instruments you want are in a custom soundfont - and you can also make up a soundfont which combines the basic soundfont sounds with the new ones.

Marc's solution is a good starting point.
