Can't type # down to the Echo Mark

You can add a sharp sign # manually using the Accidentals palette or the buttons in the top bar. Then you can select the sharp sign in the Inspector and use the "Bracket type" dropdown to add parentheses. Last you just have to click and drag the sharp sign above the note where you want it.
