Can anyone tell me how to change the pitch of a note without losing the attached lyrics?
Using a Mac, Big Sur 11.3.1

? The up/down keys are on your keyboard. Or maybe you mean, a MIDI keyboard? You can also change pitch of notes that way, if you first enable "Repitch mode" using the dropdown menu next to the note input icon on the toolbar. This is useful if you have a lot nof notes to change the pitch of. Be aware also there are lots of useful transposition commands in addition to up/down, and they all work on multiple selections - lots of ways to change pitch.

Hmm, somehow it seems we are misunderstanding each other. I am not suggesting using MIDI; I am simply pointing that the suggestion is to use your computer keyboard. You said "a lot easier than using the keyboard", but that doesn't make sense. You were just advised (by the person you were responding to) to use the computer keyboard, how could using the computer keyboard be easier than using the computer keyboard? Either you misunderstood the suggestion, or there was a typo in your reply :-)

Sorry, that was a very poor message I sent; I meant a lot easier than using the letter keys on the keyboard to put in the names of the notes, as doing this deletes the attached lyrics, whereas changing notes using the cursor keys doesn't.
Got to say I'm very impressed with Musescore so far, especially in comparison with Crescendo. Just wish there was a comparable free iPad version.
