onUpdate() / onChange trigger for plugin?

As an experiment, I want to create a plugin that creates a new part with custom notations.

I wonder if there is an onUpdate() or onChange() method in the API, as opposed to onRun(), so that the plugin is not only called when user triggers the plugin, but also called when there is a change made to the main score, and the plugin can then updates/redraws the custom part.
