Time signature properties not applying to all selected staves?

• Jun 6, 2021 - 02:59

If you select a time signature, by default it selects it across all staves (which is fine, that's what you want most of the time), but then when you edit the properties to change the beaming or appearance, it only seems to apply to the particular staff you clicked on to bring up the context menu?
But if you use the "Properties" button in the inspector it seems to be the properties for just the first staff in the system, regardless of what you have selected previously.
Either way, how do I change the beaming or appearance for the time signature across all staves?

Worked it out, you need to create a new custom time signature, add to the palette (and note the "add" button in this dialog looks like it does nothing, but it has worked), then use that to replace your existing time signature.
Not super obvious but there you go. In fact in general this is only way to change any property (including the number of beats/beat duration) of a time signature. I don't quite see why you shouldn't be able edit all such properties directly and have them apply as expected to the selected elements.
