Stems in opposite direction on chords?
Hello,
I'm really grateful for the help I've received on this forum for my project. I have 1 question (and possible one more coming up later). In the picture below, the chord stems are in opposite direction, so that the stem of the bottom note in each chord is stretched to the bass clef (this may be an old fashioned notation, not sure...).
Is it possible to do this in Musescore?

Lol - I think I worked out my own problem....I just looked at the score again and realised the notes with the long stems belong to the bass clef :)

Hi - i'm trying to drag the stems down to the second line of the bass clef, so that it matches the picture, but the Musescore keeps stretching the space between the staves so that the stem stops in the space in between instead.

Similarly having trouble with this one (picture below). I've attempted it by adding the notes with the long stem to the bass clef as voice 1, then stretching the stem up to the chord in the treble clef, but Musescore reformats the spacing automatically.

In the Inspector, be sure to disable 'Automatic Placement' for the stem.

Hi, So the solution worked fine for my first example, but for the other bar with the long stems stretching to the bass, Musescore automatically spaces them again when I hit 'save'. Not sure why. I've unchecked the box in the inspector for each of the stems.

If you are still having trouble, please attach the actual score, not just a picture - then we can understand and assist better.
