Musescore messes with audio

• Jul 13, 2021 - 04:01

There are a few problems going on.
1. For a while when I open Musescore, it completely disables MIDI input into Ableton Live. To fix this issue I just had to re-open Ableton and MIDI input was back to normal. I've been living with this for a while because it didn't bug me that much.

  1. Just an hour ago, I updated my "NVIDIA HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO" driver to 2021-05-03 (I don't update them too often). After that happened, Musescore retaliated by having its audio not work at all. So I did what anyone would do and restarted it. As this was happening I was sitting in a Discord call with some friends. When I re-opened Musescore, all audio stopped working. My friends in Discord could still hear me, but I couldn't hear them. I had to restart Discord for it to work again. This goes for all other applications too. The audio wouldn't work for anything until said application was restarted.

  2. Lastly, after restarting Musescore, the audio still wouldn't work. I've tried restarting my PC and nothing has worked. I've also double-checked that I'm using the right audio devices.

If anyone has had a similar problem and has a solution it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When I'm in a call/VC (Voice Chat) on Discord, I have to rejoin the Call/VC because, when it MS opens, DS goes silent. I don't know what to do with it when it does that.

Just adding some more visibility to this, I have a similar problem as well. Whenever I open Musescore (MS), it seems to mess up all my audio. When opening MS, all my programs that are using audio hang for a split second while Discord (what I assume happens) takes priority over all other audio applications. Why does this happen? If I'm in call in Discord, my audio will mess up and I'll have to rejoin. I've noticed that right clicking on my volume icon and trying to open my volume mixer also stops working sometimes after MS opens. I have installed MS on a new laptop and made sure both computers have fully-updated audio drivers, but the issue still occurs on both of them. Both of the machines are Windows 10. I'll have to test Musescore with FL Studio to see if I have the same issue as OP.
