Adding X to the stem
Hi,
I've switched over to Musescore from Sibelius and was wondering if there was any way to recreate the effect shown in the attached picture, where an X is placed on top of the stem of the note?

I'm not sure what's supposed to represent, but if nothing else, you can add this from the Symbols palette (press "Z" to display, search for "X" to see a few different variations)

Thank you, this worked! I forgot to include it in the screenshot, but this was the method I used to notate slap tongue for a Bass Clarinet piece. I'm not quite sure if there's a more generally agreed upon notation method for that however.

A quick web search suggests either using an alternate notehead such as the "X" or a wedge or the one with a notehead and a slash through it, using the Noteheads palette or via the Inspector. That or using the "+" articulation instead of the staccato. But it seems there is little standardization.
