Whole tone scales and key signatures

• Aug 5, 2021 - 08:00

Is it possible to define two key signatures which are non-standard specifically for whole tone scales starting on C and/or C sharp respectively?

Thus starting on C - the F, G and A would have sharps, while starting on C sharp, only the C and D would need sharps. However, to avoid E natural creeping into that scale, the E would also need to be raised with a sharp.

If such key signatures were defined in MuseScore - which I think is possible - would the sounds in the player correspond to those key signatures? Is MuseScore clever enough to do that?

Seems to work .... at least with the C sharp scale. However the design of the key signature seems a bit clunky, and getting the palettes to work most coveniently might be a bit tricky.
