Splitting a piano score

I downloaded Bach invention #13 for piano. Can Musescore split the piano system into two separate instruments? Ex. Oboe and Bassoon

Yes.
Assuming you'd want the treble as oboe and the bass staff as bassoon:

  1. Edit > Instruments. Add Bassoon
  2. Select all on Bass Staff, copy it and paste onto the Bassoon staff
  3. Open the staff/part-properties for the piano. Click on "change instrument" and pick Oboe
  4. Edit > Instruments. Remove the 2nd staff from the Oboe.
