2 -parts on one stave with upper voice sustained while lower note changes clef

• Oct 3, 2021 - 19:40

I have searched for a solution, but have note seen one. This comes up from time to time, but isn't exactly common. The instance in the picture is from the manuscript of a full score and this is for 3rd and 4th French Horn. Adding another set of lines isn't going to work here. Any suggestions?

If this passage only contains a few measures, you maybe could fake it by adding a F clef change from the master palette, deselecting the playback for the visible notes, and notating the sounding pitch with invisible notes.
If it contains a longer passage of measures I probably would notate it in an separate instrument and hide the empty measures.

Add the bass note as a 2nd Voice. Use the lesser-known "Fix to Line" property in Inspector, set to Line 12 in this case. Add Stave Text to the note, press F2 to bring up symbols, choose the bass clef and then position it where you want.
