I see an example for the two note, but, per my attachment I don't see how i can add the example that is in my attachment in 4/4 time

Start with two dotted quarters - as the handbook says in step 1"Input the notes at half the desired final duration"
So enter dotted quarter D then dotted quarter B (assuming treble clef) then apply the tremolo.
