Voices with different values don't look right.
Hello all.
I have a measure with 3 voices. The top note is an 1/8 and the lower 2 notes are 1/4. The program links the tails of the 1/8 note and one of the 1/4 notes. So it looks like the 1/4 note is an 1/8 note. Is this expected behaviour? I'll attach a screenshot.

Oh, and there seems to be a quarter rest hiding behind the F#.
Seems you used the wrong voices. Maybe you take a look at the handbook how to use them:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/voices
You can make the rest invisible by clicking it and pressing "V"

"You can have up to 4 voices on each staff line. In a polyphonic measure, voice 1 (and 3) usually takes the up-stem notes and voice 2 (and 4) takes the down-stem notes."
So I should use voice 4 instead of 3?

I don't see any reason to need more than two voices here. As you say, there is one eighth and two quarters. So unless this is part of a fugue or similar work where each of the three voices needs to be shown independently - and that doesn't seem the be the case - just putting the eighth in voice 1 and the other two in voice 2 seems like it would be the standard notation.

Thanks. I've passed your comments to the person that asked me to investigate. We'll see what he says when the USA wakes up.

Oh, and V just greys out the rest, making it even more visible against the black of the note.

I managed to delete it. Thanks.

Greyed out means that you have chosen the option to show invisibles. This is useful if you want to change invisibles in any way, including making them visible again. For showing or hiding invisibles, (and other related options), see:
