lost files

My external hard drive crashed. I was able to recover a lot of the files but what I can't find are my Musescore files. I am missing about 60 pages of scores. I have all the pdfs of the scores but not the Musescore versions to be able to change these scores.
When I open "scores," I have lots of scores but not the 60 I am looking for. Is there any other place to look for these files?

The default place MuseScore 3 saves scores is Documents/MuseScore3/Scores. For MuseScore 2, it was Documents/MuseScore2/Scores. Be sure to check both if you've used versions. But like any computer program, MuseScore doesn't care where you save your files, you may have chosen a different folder when you saved those files. There's no way we can know which you chose, but if you don't remember, then a search of your entire drive using the facilities provided by your OS should help as suggested. Unless of course the crash really did remove them, which is entirely possible. As mentioned, for WIndows users, OneDrive is a life saver, so be sure to check that unless you disabled it when setting up your computer. For macOS, similar story for Time Machine, except I think that might default to being off.
