Playback hesitates at end of each line

Every piece I play back from the Musescore repertoire file plays fine through the line. But at the end of the line, no matter how many measure sin the line, there is a several second hesitation before playback resumes. This certainly interferes with my enjoyment of the music, and with my understanding of how the music should sound. I have a Dell computer with Windows 10 that otherwise is functioning well.

I should add that when I play back any music on the Musescore site the playback is perfect.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?
