Adding linked staff with same clef

• Nov 17, 2021 - 23:25

Hi folks,

Though my music group uses standard notation, I still rely on having a separate tab version on my copies. I used to be able to add a linked staff and simply specify tablature as the staff type. Maybe the process has changed since MuseScore 2.x, but now the linked staff is always bass (the original being treble).

I can create a new staff and copy the notes from one to the other, but then I lose the automatic synchronization between the two.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve

What instrument?
You realize that a TAB staff displays no clef. It shows the word 'TAB' instead.

See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tablature#staff-tab-existing-score
especially this part;
"Click 'Add Linked Staff' to create a linked staff/tab pair."
and this part:
"In the Staff type column, click on the dropdown list for the newly-created staff and select a tablature option"

If you already have a (e.g., guitar) staff and wish to add a linked staff to it:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tablature#staff-tab-from-staff
