Note typing

Hey, whenever I type on one of the buttons "a,b,c,d,e,f,g" they don't make notes. It doesn't matter whether the "n" button is pressed in or not.
There are times when I open musescore and only the "g" works from among the notes and sometimes any of them doesn't work.
I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it. On the first time when opend it after reinstalling, all of the notes worked, but from then and on they stopped working again.
I'm using a MacBook.

A few possibilities I can think of:

  • maybe you are on a percussion staff and the drumset definition for that staff doesn't includes those shortcuts

or

  • maybe you switched to the special "repitch" mode but there are no notes to repitch

or

  • maybe your keyboard is failing
