Issue notating a sequence of triplets

Hello,

When I want to write a sequence of triplets I can only only do that beat by beat, meaning that for each beat a need to perform the following action: select the note that the triplet is based on (in my case a quarter note) and then press CTRL+3.
When I complete one beat, then if I continue entering the notes for the next beat, they are just entered as straight eighths. Is there a way to keep writing triplets without having to perform the above mentioned action for every beat? (See attachments).
