Creating slurs/ties over repeats

• Mar 29, 2025 - 16:31

I am trying to follow the instructions on how to use the new feature for creating slurs and over repeats and it simply...doesn't happen?
I select a note, ctrl + click a barline and press S, and nothing will happen.
I select a note, press + (and also tried T) for a tie, and no tie shows up at all even though there should at least be an ugly one showing up :(

I've read and reread both the forum post* and the handbook** and I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

I'm attatching the file I'm working on so if someone feels like trying it out, please do!
I'm trying to recreate this:

1) Select the bars in question. Resetting all positions reveals how badly the first slur was messed with. We will deal with it shortly.
2) I have deleted the second voice there and the tie at the end (I didn't like the slight slant it had, it was suspicios, but as turns out it was correct. Oh, well...)
3) Click on the bar №56. RMB/Bar properties. Adjust the play count. This was the source of your problems. Without this adjustement the program just won't see that last Bb in the third volta.
4,5) Select the first slur. It has 6 nodes. In the picture №4 the bottom middle one is grayed out. Select the bottom left one. Press Shit+Alt+Left
6) Select that E. Press S. Press Shift+Alt+left. Select that Bb before the volta. Press T. Well, it was deleted for nothing.
7) Select that Bb in the third volta.
8,9) Press S. That slur looks wrong. With the slur being selected (when it is blue) press Alt and select its bottom left node. Pressing Alt is necessary to avoid selecting the 57th bar.
10) Shift+Alt+left.
11) Select the bottom RIGHT node (Alt+LMB). Shift+left.
Not Shift+Alt+left, but Shift+left.
12,13) Cb. Press S and then Shift+Alt+right.

The result has one problem. That Bb in third repeat lasts 1 quaver instead of 3 eights. The tie LOOKS correct, but its playback is lacking.
