It's not clear what you mean by "dithered" here - do you mean, the display of the toolbar has strange-looking pixels? If so, could you post a screenshot, and also say which OS, what type of display, and what version of MuseScore?
If you mean it's disabled so you can't use playback, the above FAQ article gives lots of advice on things to try.
