Note input panel missing

• Jan 13, 2022 - 10:16

I have been using Musescore 3.6.2.548021803. on a windows 10 version 21H1.
Recently I found the note input panel is blank (nor can I find the floating panel.). I tried:
- reset all settings to default.
- turn on and off note-input,
- uninstall and reinstall, even an older version of Musescore 3.

But I just cannot make the note input panel appear again.

Can someone help with this? Thanks a lot!

Very strange. When you say you tried resetting everything, specifically, you tried Help / Revert to Factory Settings? Other resets (like the one with the Style or Preferences dialogs) wouldn't be expected to help.

If after a factory reset it still happens, the only thing I can say from your image is that somehow the toolbar doesn't quite look tall enough. Making me wonder if something weird with your display settings is causing MuseScore to create the toolbar just a little small for the icons within it. What happens if you reduce icon size in Edit / Preferences / General? Also, it's hard to say, but the interface looks big compared to the score that shows in one of your screenshots, although other screenshots show the view to be 100%. Also making think there is some sort of display resolution issue. Are you using the "-D" option to specify a non-default DPI value? If not, maybe try doing so. See the Handbook section on reverting to factory settings if you need help figuring out how to use the command line on your OS. Once you get there, try "-D 100", also smaller values, also larger - the goal is to find the one that matches the actual DPI of your monitor.
