Need to view any pdf of notation to play the tune so I can learn by ear
I just bought in, for ipad mobile app. I need to import extant pdf files with notation so I can play the audio to learn by ear. Have I barked up the wrong app tree?

You've rather barked up the wrong site, the mobile apps are not dealt with here on musescore.org, but exclusively over on musescore.com, in this case in https://musescore.com/groups/musescore-ios/,
For exporting to PDF though the MuseScore editor, topical here on musescore.org, can get used. And even is entirely free.
