Custom Notehead scheme, any solution?

• Feb 6, 2022 - 00:16

With the current notehead-scheme function in MuseScore 3, there is no way to create a different alphanumeric notehead scheme. For example, I need a 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 notehead layover instead of C, B, A, G, F, E, D.
I'm trying to create notation for tin whistle/flute tutorials to help whistlers associate the fingering with the notes on the staff.
I realize there are solutions to place alphaNumeric above and below the staff, but on the noteheads would be a game changer in terms of learning the note positions.
Any solution?

For a workaround you can:

• create Staff Text objects with the desired numbers
• set the fill color of the Staff Text numbers to white.
• Set the Stacking Order high so the notes are in from of the noteheads, and position them where you want.

Once accomplished you can copy/paste those "noteheads" of the same pitch anywhere you want.

Perhaps there's a way to align the Staff Text to the note position. If so then you could drag the note and have the text follow.
