Spaces between lyrics when adding lyrics by themselves, not tied to a note

I am working on a songbook for a client. The client wants only lyrics and chords. I should mention that it is intended for a guitarist to play and sing at the same time. My idea was to do this in Musescore, however, for some reason I cannot put a space between words unless it is tied to a note on a staff. Is there a way around this?

Also, since I want chord names over just lyrics, is there an easier way to do this besides inserting a Lyric box above the lyrics one by one?
