Score Panning?
Noticed during playback when reaches the end of the page view (ie, height), panning then advances to the next view.
Is there any way to allow the panning to occur maybe a staff height before moving on to the next view?
This way the view is scrolling smoothly looking ahead if this makes sense.

Try this...
Put score in 'Continuous View':
See: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/viewing-and-navigation#continuous-v…
then use Edit > Preferences > Advanced and put a check in the box 'smoothPan/enabled

BTW: If the score has repeats or forward/backward jumps (like D.C. al Coda), use the 'teleport left' and/or 'teleport right' check boxes.
Alternatively, you can unroll the repeats to avoid any jumping around during playback. (Tools > Unroll Repeats)

Just curious.. Any technical reason why pageview cannot also have this capability?

Someone with the skill and time to implement it is what's missing.
That and that this only makes sense for smaller system scores, as the chance on something readable if you have 15 instruments in a system when showing multiple systems vertically is rather low.

Eeek good point. Im thinking single drumming instrument. Egadd multiple instruments seems impossible.

I'm trying to imagine what smooth scrolling would look like when you get to the end of a system., Seems inherently incompatible?

In my understanding the request is not for a "vertical smoothpan", but rather to reposition the score sooner if there's enough vertical distance for more than one system within view.
Currently MuseScore repositions the view only the moment the cursor falls outside the view area. This means that you, as a player, have no score look-ahead if you're at the "bottom" system of the current viewport.
If MuseScore would reposition the view so you always at least see the current + next system if possible you'll end up with more total score repositioning, but should get a "smoother" play-along experience as the human player.
I also think it might make sense to only use this logic in Single Page View.

Ah, I see. That or the scroll pages vertically option in standard page view.

Yes jeetee well said. 👌

JEETEE IS THIS SOMETHING THAT COULD MAKE IT FUTURE RELEASES??

Yes, it definitely could, but there is currently nobody looking into implementing it.

what you're looking for is already working well on the iPad app (Musescore 3 since support for Musescore 4 is not yet available for iPad)
unfortunately it is not available on PC or Mac neither in Musescore 3 nor in Musescore 4 ...
this is a major drawback for solo players like me who want to read their score on screen while being accompanied by the other instruments in the hidden mode
i don't like the continuous mode since you only see the next 2 or 3 measures, i lack the global view on the page
i can't play like that
