scores with 1 and 2 staff systems
How does one create a score with both single staff systems and double staff systems. This occurs in lots of orchestral parts where, for example, the concertmaster has a solo while the reset of the section plays different notes. The only way I can see to do this is create separate scores and combine the pdfs but this isn't really satisfactory.

Interesting. So you create a score (in my case a violin part) with 2 staff systems, just put notes in the unison systems? Clever. Thanksl.
