PulseAudio doesn't work in MuseScore 3.6
Musescore 3.6 flatpak, Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon, Kernel 5.4.0-100 Generic, Intel I7-10710U @ 1.1 GHzx6, 62.5 GiB memory.
When I started using MuseScore, I had no sound. I had to select "PortAudio" to get sound. PulseAudio was one of the choices, but I get no sound when I pick that, and neither does toe note cursor move. On top of that, sometimes when I work in MuseScore, PulseAudio (which is invoked by PortAudio,) uses upwards of 20%, and sometimes 100%, CPU.
Is this a known problem, and if not, what additional information can you offer, or what else do you need from me?
Thank you, in advance, for your time and trouble.

Flatpak or other community packages are not supported here.
Try the AppImage instead.

Thank you.
I uninstalled the 3.6.2 version that Mint Software Manager provided from Flathub, and installed the appimage your site offered. The problems with Pulseaudio were even worse, and the PortAudio choice produced cracling.

I'm wondering whether setting the pulse latency as per #284568: Distorted Sound with strange echo of input // Musescore 3 // Manjaro Linux works for you

On some Linux systems, it helps to set the environment variable PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC to a larger than default value. It's a bit of trial and error, but maybe start with 50 and try values from there up to 500.

None of these things work. and I don't have problems with Pulse on anything else.
