Palettes box obscures left part of area where score displayed

Yesterday, I mistakenly clicked on something that caused the "Palettes" box to cover the left part of the score display (uploaded screenshot shows what it looks like). Since I don't know what I did to cause it, I don't know what to do to stop it.

I tried closing MuseScore and reopening it. I also tried shutting down Windows and restarting. One oddity: even though I close MuseScore and restart the operating system, when I start MuseScore again it reports that it is "restoring session" and brings back a version with the same palettes-obscuring-score problem.

I tried looking in manual for info on user interface, but the only source I could find on that topic is my old printed copy of the handbook for version 2.0.

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

double click the palette box' titlebar to re-dock it

Thanks so much for including links so that I can read in more depth about navigation and palettes, so that in the future I'll be better able to look up stuff in the on-line handbook and figure out how to solve problems on my own.
