Sax doubling clarinet
I asked this question a few days ago and kindly received answers. But none of these solutions seem to work, or I am simply not following instructions.
I have three saxophones in the score. One of them is changing to clarinet midway. The only "palette" I see is under "Add" I choose text and instrument change. That produced an text square. But nothing changed.

Look in the Inspector and click on 'Select Instrument' then choose clarinet in Woodwinds and click OK

But don't use the instrument change text from the pallet. It is broken and doesn't work for transposing instruments Add the text from the [Add]>[Text] menu instead. See #320828: Change Instrument Palette Text does not recognise current instrument leading to incorrect transpositions
Or just add a clarinet, enter the notes (place system breaks before the clarinet starts) and then tick Format > Style > Score > Hide empty staves (and untick Format > Style > Score > Don't hide empty staves in first system)
