How to add brace to verses before going into chorus

• Apr 23, 2022 - 02:31

Hi, everyone, I looked around and found that the last discussion I could find on this occurred ten years ago. Is there a way to add a brace to the end of the section on verses before going into the chorus?

When entering the bottom verse after having entered the melisma:

  1. double click to "do." to get back into lyrics entry mode
  2. press right arrow to move to the last syllable
  3. open the special characters palette (alpha button at the bottom of the screen, or press F2)
  4. Musical Symbols > Staff brackets and dividers
  5. Click on the 2nd item (if you hover your mouse over it, it'll show "reversed brace")
  6. Close the special characters palette
  7. Shift+left arrow (this'll select the just added brace symbol character)
  8. Increase the font size using the text toolbar at the bottom of the screen (I went for 28 here, but 24 might fit just fine)
  9. Exit lyrics entry mode (Esc)
  10. Use the inspector (F8) to give an Element X-offset to move it past the melisma (here 0,60 to 0,75sp seems nice) and possibly also slightly adjust the Y-offset depending on the size you choose in step 8 (I moved it down another 0,5sp in addition to what was already there)

Type "brace" into the Search box.
Click on the right-most brace.

Drag the brace to where you want it.
