Creating Headers & Footers on second and subsequent pages

• Jun 10, 2022 - 04:05

I have a single instrument score which I am trying to duplicate the Score title and Instrument/Part Name on the second and subsequent pages. I have tried the Styles/Header/Footer feature but it just doesn't seem to do anything. I did read something about having to create a frame first.
Can somebody take me through from scratch how to create headers and footers on second and subsequent pages?
Thanks

The header and footer are set in Format / Style / Header, Footer. No frames involved. Just enter the information you want into the appropriate boxes, and make sure you check the appropriate options as to whether you want different headers or footers for odd/even pages etc.

If you continue to have trouble, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

Thanks for your response.
I have been playing a bit more and had partial success. I now understand that a frame is not required and that the info can be placed in the required box in Styles, Header/Footer editing.
I have attached a couple of pics where I have entered $I Part Name on all pages, $F File path + Name and $d Current Date. In the "Query 1" pic attached you can see where I have done this and each item appears in the score except the Part Name. In the "Query 2" pic you can see where there is a Part Name in the Stave Properties so I am not sure why it doesn't appear the Header.
Am I missing something???
Cheers
Ian
